In the spirit of community in the San Geronimo Valley, we come together to co-create a place of natural abundance — a community garden in every sense. In that place we grow together, growing fruits and vegetables, learning from each other, sharing, developing friendships, working collaboratively, being with nature and nurturing our bodies and spirits.
Several Valley residents have created a community garden located within the bounds of the San Geronimo Valley Golf Course. The garden plan at this point has 30 family plots (16 feet square), irrigation, communal fruit trees, grape vines, composting area, and green house. We will enclose the entire garden with a fence and install irrigation lines to each plot. We will pay the golf club for our water use and annual liability insurance. Membership will include buying in for establishing the garden, then water use. We plan to do all of the installation work ourselves, so volunteering to help is part of being a member of the garden. We plan to have educational activities about gardening and plants shared by our members.
We are associated with MarinLink as a non-profit organization so we can receive tax deductible donations. We plan to seek grants and donations to support the growth of our garden. We also donate some of our food to the Food Bank at the San Geronimo Valley Cultural Center.
The cost to join is $180 – a one-time cost which will pay for fencing and irrigation. The members of the garden are members of our San Geronimo Valley community as a priority. A membership agreement, “hold harmless waiver”, and member questionnaire can be downloaded in either MS Word or PDF documents from the
