Last Saturday, Oct. 6th the Marin Sunrise Rotary group sponsored a work day in our community garden to build raised planters for our Senior’s Garden Plot. The Rotary funded the cost of materials, directed the construction, and came as volunteers to help do the work. We started at 9am and went until 3pm. Members of our community garden were also there to help. It was a great work day and we accomplished our goal, to build the planters. Now we need to fill them with soil so our seniors can get their winter crops planted.
The project is to support seniors in our community garden who want to participate, but need an easier time with the physical work. We are so pleased as a community garden to be supportive of our seniors.
