This is a repost from the SGV email list. If you love weeding and/or you want to help restore Samuel P Taylor Park, this may be of interest:
Dear Weeding Friends,
August dates for Zen of Weeding in Taylor Park will be Friday August 14 and Sunday August 9. Notice the second Sunday precedes the second Friday!
Please arrive a little before 1pm at the Camp Taylor entrance. Inquire at the kiosk (Liliana is the new summer staff person) to find our location if you need to come later. Tell the kiosk manager you are a volunteer to get your parking pass or ask me for one. We will finish up around 3pm.
We will meet by the second bathroom in the main picnic area – at the far end. On Friday, we’ll hike continue working along the Cross Marin Trail starting just over the bridge from the picnic area. Sunday will find us over at Unicorn Canyon for some fine tuning there.
Lately I’m seeing foraging families of Pygmy nuthatches, Wilson’s Warblers, Pacific Slope Flycatchers, Brown Creepers, Chestnut-backed chickadees and more!. This precious habitat that we are helping to restore is so productive. It’s great to see the song birds having such a successful breeding season.
